On the road

On the road
Trees  dancing in the wind. Cows galloping around the
field. A massive river shimmered in the sunlight.
And a beautiful mountain in the middle of it.
“What a delightful day” I sighed

“sorry to burst your bubble sis but look over there”
my brother moaned sadly as we headed
towards opunake. A big black blanket covered the sky.
Soon all the beautiful scenery  disappeared behind us.
Tiny droplets ran down the window. The town was
empty no cars to be seen.

Parking outside the shops I could see the beautiful
burgers through the windows awaiting me to eat them.
Burning fish melted into my legs. The pain
was unexplainable. ‘Hold it in’ I murmured quietly to myself. roaring engine only made my pain worse. My head asked my legs burned.

Finally we drove up the long driveway. “Hurry up”
I shrieked. 5,4,3,2,1 Finally I can get this
atrocious pain off my legs. The cold wind soon cooled
down my legs. Bits and bobs blocked my path.
The effort people put into this garage is pathetic.
“AHH” I screamed as I tripped. Lucky for me my brother caught the fish and chips

Our farm

Hi I'm Ellie and this is our farm. We bought it three years ago, when we moved here from Stratford to Riverlea. Living here is great and  we have a lot of fun helping Mum and Dad on the farm with milkings and shifting the cows. Over the last few years I've been going to Auroa school, that's just two roads down so it does not take that long to drive to school.

Last year we started to build a new house. The house was built by golden homes. The frame of house is actually steel and that is really cool.

As you can see we have now finished the house but Mum still has to sort the garden out.

On your marks, Get set, Go

"We have to turn our 4ths into 3rds, 3rds into 2nds,  and our 2nds into 1st. 10 Year old girls your up!

As I was walking up I was feeling tense my arms are shaking. I was worried that I was going to come last. Mixed emotions filled my head, but I knew with the school cheering me on I can win! So I  looked over to see who I was facing but most of the kids looked like wobbly jelly.

"ON YOUR MARKS" I was fixed on the finish line I wished that I was already there. 'GET SET" I could hardly hear my self think because of the crowd. "GO" I shot off like a rocket.

'Swoosh, Thump, Zip' I was off like a wild horse passing every one I see. Looking at the finish line wondering how many tokens I'll get. So I closed my eyes then when I opened them I was over the finish line.

Looking at Mr Spice he told me that I didn't come first Danielle did but luckily I came second so its not all bad. Then suddenly Mr Spice gave me two brilliant  tokens. I just can't wait to put them in he token box. Then suddenly we heard a "thump"the boys were racing. "GO" we shouted! They sounded like lightning and thunder. I think that was a great race.                                                                        by Ellie
